Event Date
Join us for a day of giving back to nature and the community while experiencing the therapeutic effects of spending time outside! No prior gardening experience is needed to participate. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome. It's a perfect way to come together with fellow outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy some fresh air and exercise while helping beautify our beloved landscapes.
This month we will be working with the Vet Med Green Task Force to weed and prune the Toxic Plant Garden, located northwest of Gladys Valley Hall in the Health Sciences District.
Gardening tools as well as light refreshments provided. Close toed shoes are required. Pants and a long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting dirty and bring gardening gloves if you have them. Loaner gloves will also be available for the day.
Can't make it on October 12? Sign up to hear about future volunteer opportunities.
Food for thought: If you are hoping to organize a volunteer event for a larger group or organization, please contact Kitty Bolte, GATEways Horticulturist, at khbolte@ucdavis.edu to discuss options that might work for your group.
